  1. Every so now and then I send out a bulk mail to inform people about any new updates to this site. I actively try to avoid it becoming spam as I too loath spam so it’s only when there’s something really new or important.

The problem was that the forum software used this website’s host mail system which, because of spam, doesn’t allow any more messages to be send then 130 per hour. The bulk mail system pushes everything out at once and any attempt in the past month’s to spread out the load like 10 mails per 10 minutes failed.

It meant that a lot of mails send out bounced back to my “rikof” mailbox, where I then (in a cumbersome way) manually had to copy and paste the bounced email addresses into a new global addressed (Hi there, instead of Hi your_forum_nickname), email and resend my message.

I was suggested at some point “to pick a new mail host” but since I knew nothing about CNAME’s, type’s, Value’s, DNS records, DKIM, bouncing domains and what not, I let it be the way it was.

Today though I know a little bit (very little bit) more about these things and after 3 weeks of struggling I’m happy to say that this forum now uses a new email host and since it’s first message landed in my spam folder it’s a good idea to inform you about just that.

    TLDR:
If you have your forum preferences set to receive mail from me and/or this forum keep an eye on your spam folder or make sure to allow (4forum)at(email(dot)4f-creations(dot)com)
Just remove all the “()”, change “at” to @ and “dot” to an actual “.”

My old “rikof” address still remains active, only mails sent from 4Forum will use the new address.

  2. I have been asked this many times before, is there any another way then Paypal to signup/become an ‘elite’ member.

Yes, either by €10.- bank wire or by sending (€10.-) cash by mail for 1 year membership.

    How to:
File a support request through this forum. Emailing or PM-ing me about this will not work. The only proper way is filing a support request.

Q: Why not use Verotel, CCBill etc.?
A: They simply charge and cost more money then this website generates.

Q: Why a support request only and don’t post the information right here?
A: Because I want to try to keep my “footprint” small. Mistakes in the past have led to me getting weekly Microsoft Support center calls to “fix” problems they, going by the static on the line and the accent, in south east Asia found on my Apple computers…

On top of that I get "companies" from London and Texas who want something from me. I still don’t know what and I really don’t care as it certainly involves in my bank account going down and theirs up, while in return I end up with a plastic bag filled with air, if I’m lucky.

It also helps me to track requests like this much better. :blush1:

  3. This is a heads up to those who use this (chrome) plugin (adguard).

I don't like ads, I actually loath them so you'll never find them on this site, though it has crossed my mind in the past but then I realized I really really loath them so...

Anyway, testing an updated version of the top featured images bar today, they went missing in my Chrome browser. Took me a while but it has something to do with AdGuard as the above small featured images are placed in an iFrame and I think that is where the plugin is choking up on. The way things work here I cannot move that content out of the iFrame.

If you see empty bars like this:

    Screen-Shot-2017-04-26-at-12_47.jpg.4eecb1f28f06ff78aa4060601a701304.jpg

You can try this setting which sticks only 1 browser refresh.

    Screen-Shot-2017-04-26-at-12_46.thumb.jpg.5a64e3134a88512dde4a1fedcb4e2e6d.jpg

If you refresh your browser for a second time the content disappears again (English filter turns on again) even though adguard reports it didn't block anything... It should look like this:

    Screen-Shot-2017-04-26-at-12_46.jpg.07a128e56e91427a530ef3afdc99cf2b.jpg

You could turn it off too for this site but then you have to remember to turn it on again when you leave. All quite cumbersome and nothing I can do here to fix sadly.

  4. Why on earth do you need to upload such high file sizes? 4K is what? 4000x2000?

I only have 15 GB storage of which 7 GB is already in use. So I have 7.5 GB left.
That's 7,500.00 MB if you'd divide that by (36,7+46,1) /2 equals to roughly 181 pictures.

The forum has its own crappy image optimization but pre-uploading running your file through this may help a lot sizing your files down: TPNG (tiny png/jpg)
A .jpg setting at 72-80% (I use 82) gives you, I feel, the best results when it comes to compression vs. quality.

  5. I've been since I rebooted the site into this forum scratching my skull over the weird absence for advanced/elite members to attach files to their posts. With the kind and quick help of IPS I think we fixed that finally today. (I only today decided to get help with this...)

As I'm on limited disk space :mad1: I have to be careful how much to give away in the end I came at 20MB for 'Elite' and 10 MB for 'Advanced' Members.

    Screen-Shot-2017-03-23-at-12_32.jpg.785e3590db631abea9b14e6a9f4c0c5b.jpg

  6. I've created a new featured image slide gallery (in Hype). Before it was made by coding it in the forum. Each 3-5 images on a separate HTML page. If I added 1 new image all pages had to be rewritten one by one.

I put my website in a forum shape last year just to avoid having to continuously (re)write HTML...  No I'm not lazy.

    Screen-Shot-2017-03-14-at-16_44.jpg.21b7d9003caa3f769f00a9e0f336b16d.jpg

It should work but I cannot check on every single possible combination of OS & web browser, so if it's not working I would happy hear about it.

  7. Screen-Shot-2017-03-14-at-16_11.jpg.c6d06bb144908382c43b56196725cd83.jpgI had secretly hoped :drop: that after a year this would had helped me pay for the website and forum software. The target was 250 the result after nearly a year  equals 160. The 4Forum software alone is $180.- USD a year. If you want to know, hosting costs me 182€ a year, excl. 35€ for the SSL stuff.

So what I’m going to do is this, I made an (as far as I can see) anonymous new group called ‘donators’ and people who donate get/have access to a “special” folder. (If you donated in the past you should be able to see and access a new folder in the gallery).
In this folder I will from time to time as a ‘thank you from me to the donator(s)’ upload a slightly higher resolution of a 4F image with, maybe, sometimes a slightly alternate version.

I have reset the "clock" and added the people who have donated to this group today. In a years time (March 14, 2018) I'll reset the clock again and the people in that group, or not, it depends, maybe I just completely give up on it. Anyway...

“Slightly alternate version” with the emphasis on slightly. So don’t expect a ’ Jessica Susan Storm Alba with her rubber catsuit around her ankles. :blush3: Just a slight few 100's pixels deviation on what you can already see as an ‘elite’ member. So you don’t miss out if you don’t donate, much, if anything.

Also note me using, “maybe, sometimes + from time to time” in the description of what I’m going to do, sometimes.  This way you should not get disappointed. I may or may not put up a slightly altered version. It depends on the image, sometimes it just is “complete” and any tinkering with it makes it not better.

I hope I didn’t create any hopes and I’m clear in that I just try to create a little more incentive to donate to ‘the cause’.

PS, this is a MANUAL thing I have to do (put a donator in the special group), so it may take a bit. If it takes too long, but I'll do my best to be agile, poke me!

  8. As 4F-creations is *not* a bdsm centric or oriented site (nor religious), we try to keep things lighthearted and fun here. Therefor you are asked when you decide to create an avatar (your profile image) and/or other posts to keep this in mind. Please view next image to help you decide what's appropriate and what not for this forum:

    Thank you in advance!

We also have a new "leaderboard". Not sure if it adds anything but I'll leave it in for now. /Me rulez

There is also an option to add an extra layer of security to your and my account through security question(s). I'm not very fond of adding more obstacles or be confronted with them myself when I try to login or change my email/password or other sensitive things, but we have to recognize the time we live in with hackers and other scum everywhere.

So please let me know, do you want an added layer of security by having to fill in a security question you only know?

This can be as low as 1 question. Can be for login and email change and password change or just one of these. I think a security question for changing your email and password should be least annoying and most useful.

So let me know, fill in the poll, reply here or PM me.

    Cheers!

  10. As an experiment Elite members can now, if they wish so, create their own albums in the gallery. Share your artwork with others here or use it maybe for a "hey Rick any tips? or can you turn her (image) into a super duper girl?"

Elite members can if they choose so create restricted access albums, which are albums that only the creator and designated users can view.

    - Maximum of albums: 2.
    - Maximum number of images per album: 50.
    - Maximum size of images: 1200 kB (1.2MB).
    - No movies.
    - Can delete own albums: yes.
    - Can create restricted access albums: yes.

Please remember that in the end *everything* will end up in a daily backup on my HD too. I will respect your privacy as much as I can but any nefarious activity (including but not limited to abuse of my bandwidth) uploading pornography (I don’t mind erotica but there is a very thin line here) or worse, will result upon notice, in album removal and  a permanent ban without prior given warning other then this one.

If you’re unsure, just ask. :blush3:

How to proceed: go to the gallery and click on "add images", select category "member albums" then give your album a name, add a description, select your preferred privacy options and album features and hit the button "create new album". upload your first images where it says drag & drop.

PS: make sure you got a backup of the files yourself just in case.

  11. ...it's off. It broke 2 forum updates ago and should be fixed by now but it won't show the true amount that's been donated. Have no idea where to fix  this but the tally stands as I write this at: $135.01.

My sincere thanks to those who donated thus far!
Some of it already went straight back into the site's development, the rest is saved to be used when all the forum modules have to be paid for their 6 month payment cycle.

  12. Edit May 4, 2017.

Ive added a bunch of new oldies, or is it old oldies, anyway they're new to this forum.

There might be some doubles with other galleries, so my apologies for that.

    =======================================================

Added an archive of very old 4F images today. Please consider them as 'finger practice'.

The first batch uploaded today are from the Fantasy category and include a few images that (for some reason) didn’t make the transition from the old website to the 4Forums earlier this year.
    https://4f-creations.com/site/forum/index.php?/gallery/category/94-4f-archive-1996-2000~ish/

(Must say some of these images just beg for an update...)

  13. I realize that Paypal is for some an obstacle. Sadly any other option is just too costly to use.

Only thing I can *try* to setup is a bank wire option. (NO CHECKS! As they COST me money!)
It will be slower then Paypal  but it's something I can see if its feasible.

    Please let me know,

    Update: 02 May, 2016

I spend this morning looking at other options available to me, the ones that don't need a ridicilious 500.- payment/year to handle online payments.

    - Authorize.Net, monthly fee of 25.- on top of 2.9%+0.30cts/transaction means 4.x subscriptions dissapear into that black hole, so nope.

    - Stripe,  has way too many negative reviews over the past year. Sounds like anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.

    - 2Checkout, doesn't handle 'sexually oriented' content. Lol, afraid of boobs.

    - That leaves me with a wire tranfer only as anything else need to be written into this forum software and I don't have the knoweledge or money to get that done.

    Sorry.

  14. It was supposed to be like this:

-> you make one post in the introduction forum

-> I approve it and you're an advanced member

At the moment the "I approve it" part is malfunctioning.
So, after signing up for the first time, just go here and post and you're automatically approved & 'advanced member'.

I'm in contact with IPS about this to fix this, then again, maybe I'll leave it this way (less work for me...)
